Ton Slits, 2006

Untitled

Acrylic on canvas
200 × 160 cm

The works of Ton Slits exist on a razor’s edge. They are filled with a destructive element. With his pictures and silhouette-like installations, Slits questions the past and ponders the future. For him, the issue of previous and subsequent is likewise an issue of in front and behind – what is at stake is a question of location. In this investigation, the artist refers in equal measure to the logic of the natural sciences and of the Christian-religious world view.
